The last game I played was Silent Hill on PS1. LOL.

Watched the latest "Pirates Of The Caribbean" and I was asleep most of the time. We should have watched Kung Fu Panda instead, hehehe... But I enjoyed the mermaid scenes. I didn't know they feast on human flesh, I thought all mermaids are harmless like Ariel from "The Little Mermaid", hehehe...

Just watched X-Men: First Class and it was good. Though not historically faithful to its comic book version, this one serves to tell us the origins of Professor X, Magneto and how the X-Men was formed. Magneto is simply awesome in this film. You'll see where he draws his pain and anger and how his stand against mankind was formed. The only part I didn't like about this movie is the scene where Mystique tells Beast to be "Mutant and proud". Damn, parang "Gay and Proud" lang ah!. What a sucky line! I could've made a better line like, "We are Mutants, We are Elite!". Despite that, it's a good movie worth your 160 bucks (add 75 pesos for large coke and a tumbler of popcorn).
Let me also add that Rose Byrne (CIA agent Moira McTaggert in the movie) is one fine broad. Though her looks maybe simple and she's on the skinny side, she's still very fine to these eyes!

^ You beat me to this hehe. After 'The Last Stand' and 'Wolverine' I didn't expect much from X-Men First Class. But I'm glad I watched it coz although not exactly too spectacular, it's surprisingly good and beats the hell out of those two movies. There's a bit of a James Bond vibe (the earlier Bond flicks) to some parts of the movie, and yes, Michael Fassbender (who played Erik aka Magneto) takes the cake. A familiar character makes a cameo somewhere during the scenes of Erik and Xavier recruiting mutants to their team.

Gani recommended me Valhalla Rising and I finally found a copy last week. f'n A! Highly recommended, directed by the same guy who did Bronson. One very minor complaint though, it has been apparent that most films these days are opted to use CGI blood rather than the one that I was used to fake stuff. Still a very great viking flick.

Watched The Hangover part 2. Whoever said that this movie would be a further boost to Thailand's tourism is a coked out wigger. It depicts Bangkok as dirty, seedy, drug-infested and a sex haven. The scenes showing Bangkok streets reminds me of Quiapo, Recto, Divisoria and other Metro Manila urban areas. I still intend to visit Bangkok next year despite watching this movie. I'll just be wary of differentiating the true chicks from the lady boys. This is a hilarious movie that's better seen on the big screen or the DVD 'coz there will be a lot of cuts if you wait for it on HBO.

caterpillar - 6/10 it almost parallel's the main character of Johnny Got His Gun but based on Imperial Japan during WW2. Humble budget, slow paced [hence the title] but its a very uneasy movie to watch. Coincidentally i just finished reading "Horror In The East" and this movie is a look on the civilian situation where the propaganda is pretty much runs the lives of everyone.
toy story 3 - 9/10 damn.

Watched "Green Lantern" over the weekend and it was a bit underwhelming. GL is by no means a household name as far as superheroes goes. Which is why this movie spends a third of its running time telling the origin of the Guardians of the Universe, the Green Lantern Corps and Hal Jordan. The next 2/3 shows Jordan's inadequacy of living up to the role. It's after he makes the realization that he is indeed fit to be the a Green Lantern is when the action kicks in. But just as you get excited with all the butt-kicking action, the movie is already at the end of its running time. Yes, the action sequences are too short and came too late in the movie.
Green Lantern was clearly set up to have sequels (a trilogy actually). So we may get to see more action in the succeeding films IF its producers can have the green light (see what I did there, tee hee) for the project. Early indicators show a lot of bad reviews and disappointing turn out at the box office - not good indicators for sequels. So let's wait and see.
Oh, and Blake Lively is one sweet and fine lass.

Saw the latest X-Men film last night and I enjoyed it. Damn, MYSTIQUE is HOT! Watched it at 2AM this morning. I have to say, expectations were low but were pleasantly shattered: I liked it. Loved that retro 60s vibe and Rose Byrne - dark haired femme fatale, Moira McTaggert. Sorry, brod. Mystique was real cute but its always the brunettes that do it for me! ;D

Watched Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon courtesy of our company's movie day treat. This third installment is easily the best among the three live-action Transformers movies. This film is action-packed and can be faulted for having too much action going on all at the same time. Shockwave is the main Decepticon villain here (and no, he doesn't transform into a cassette player anymore. Lol!) as well as his minion Laserbeak (not a cassette tape any longer) and that burrowing serpentine Decepticon. Megan Fox is absent as all of you may know and the replacement hot chick Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was hot as expected. I was a bit surprised with the presence of John Malkovich, Frances McDormand and Patrick Dempsey in this movie. And while 2nd rate actors could've been used to play their roles, their strong performance shows why they were tapped to flesh out their characters. Oh, and the Chinese/Korean guy from the Hangover has a bit on this film and he gives some of the movie's funny moments. Though he gets killed. Similar to the first two films, the Autobots are aided by the NEST team composed of US infantry men. I read that NEST soldiers were actually inspired by GI Joe but the producers were careful not to mix Transformers and GI Joe together. With the way the soldiers were used in all of the Transformers live-action movies, I actually think crossing the two brands together would've been a great idea. A better idea than last year's sucky GI Joe live-action film. I dozed off for several minutes ('coz I came from my graveyard shift, not because it was boring) in the middle of the movie which is why I am seriously contemplating re-watching it, probably in 3-D. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Shockwave Laserbeak

Lol!) as well as his minion Laserbeak (not a cassette tape any longer) Shockwave was never a cassette player actually. He tranforms into some sort of orbital gun and he ran Cybertron in Megatron's absence. The old toy from the 80s had batteries! I think you might have mixed him up with Soundwave. Anyway, I haven't seen the movie yet (not in the cinema, at least) but if Michael Bay decided to give Laserbeak to Shockwave, then I can imagine how that can be confusing.

You're right I mixed up Shockwave with Soundwave! I guess I got confused because Laserbeak was also around and in the cartoons he turned into a cassette and gets stored inside Soundwave. So when Shockwave and Laserbeak appeared in the film, I immedieately thought the former was Soundwave.

Can we please have a Transformers movie with JUST THE ROBOTS?! Good lord for three movies straight we've seen pretty much the same thing: Megatron's ass kicked badly, an annoying slut, and Autobot COWARDS. They decided to kill Ironhide since he is the only legitimate threat. Humans are not worth it. If anything I agree with Sentinel Prime. I'd say kill them all. What a lousy, dragging film that is so predictable.

Nung Sat ko lang napanood yun TF3: Dark of the Moon. Mas natripan ko to kesa Fallen kasi balik na sa city ang bakbakan at mas maaksyon nga. I like the human/military action scenes. Mas may silbi sila ngayon dito.
