^ Ah yes... that gig was marred by power troubles twice during Beastie Boys' set. Nonetheless, if only for them and Sonic Youth, it's one of the memorable concerts I attended. By the way, is it just me not hearing things right, or does ''Cross The Breeze' from 'Daydream Nation' sound a little bit black metal-ish? www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEQkeL-G47g&feature=related

I think it's the other way around... some Black Metal artists - (Amoseur, particularly) are sorta influenced by them (the mixed of noise, shoegaze, post punk)
however Thurston Moore is a big bm fan, trip nya Bestial bm

Yeah, I kinda thought of that too, considering Daydream.... came out in '88. I did some searching earlier and found Thurston mention that a guy from a black metal band named Bone Awl commented to him that ....Breeze was a 'musical blueprint for many of the black metal moves today...'.

I didn't have cash that time either. LOL.
"NYC Ghosts and Flowers" is the last album I got from them. Still gets regular spins, mostly after work.
