if you have a budget, mid to high end turntables are the best option + a really good amp / soundsystem that has an analog or phono (red and white plugs) connection. the sound system doesn't have to be expensive as long as it is for phono/analog and doesn't get distorted at high volume. I used to have second hand high end technics turntables years ago that both got busted due to bad elec currents, so make sure to connect your unit to a voltage regulator, this is an absolute must he he
even standard usb turntables (cheap at sulit.ph and elsewhere) are also ok as long as your amp or sound system is good and you won't lose any frequencies. mine is a standard cheap usb turntable and it sounds good enough. cdr king used to sell low end turntables, I bought one and it sounds like shit, even if connected to a good amp, hehe
vinyl rules for collecting classic rock and the newer vinyl releases today. they are top notch and all look / sound killer... I'm just disappointed at some recent vinyl releases that were mastered from CD copies! (like some of the Morbid Angel reissues, hello Earache!) I guess it's just for collectibility but that defeats the purpose of releasing it I guess?

I started really fucking cheap. My First turntable was an old pioneer. worn out and almost dying, then to make it worst i plugged it in a karaoke, man it was horrendous but yet again its all i can afford . My father did some wiring for the powered amplifier that were used in jeepneys back then together with the LED lights cause the sound was not so good hehehe.
If your in a tight budget i suggest you first research on fixing a basic belt driven turntable why? because there's a lot of 2nd hand turntables around thrift shops in evangelista makati (lapit lng yan alam ko taga malibay ka) fixing it isn't rocket science but it will ensure that you will learn and do some troubleshooting when needed a good condition working turntable there would cost you around 5k a fixable one will cost you only 2k. But if your in a go buy an ION its a good start mine died last year.
Too make things worst Rallye some new Vinyl releases are mastered from MP3's lol.

Going full analogue is expensive, and Earache is kicking themselves in their yagballs for auctioning this on Ebay

I just discovered a new branch of House Of Turntables www.turntablesolutions.com at the mall. They've got some cool players but it's a bit pricey. Prices start at S$300. I fell in love with the "Juke Box With Speakerbox 5" combo www.turntablesolutions.com/combo.html but I can't afford it right now. If the money situation is good next year, I will definitely buy this to replace my cheap ass Crosley.
