in relation to Mr. Berdugs thread "God Bless you" haha when I was in High School I used to be very active in church (because I'm a knight of the altar) yes I am... When was the last time you went to church? is it by choice or because there's a church related occasion/event you have to attend to?

It was last Christmas with the family, it I remember correctly. Daming hot na catholic girls, I usually thank GOD for that. Hehehe!!!

Last time yata na nag "dasal" ako e work related prayer yun. Mga tipong hoy ikaw mag lead, kind of shit. Ayun empty words tuloy nangyayare. I dont ever remember praying on a personal level [Unless you count wishing not to wake up in the morning]
Even as a child, I never liked attending mass with my father. I hated the heat, the boring rituals and the fact that i had to give part of my "baon" to whoever was at the other end of that wooden stick with a cloth basket attached to it. Growing up in a neighborhood na walking distance lang ang simbahan tends to push your views to extremes. Its either you become a devout catholic, or end up despising all the hypocrisy that surrounds you each and every day. Come to think of it, maybe i should have payed more attention to his sermons. Heh! Plus, living near a church means that death is almost always in your face. Seeing people in grief on a regular basis is fucked up.
On the other hand, churches themselves [old ones] are quite cool. Amazing architecture, beautiful artwork, and that unmistakable stench of greed, mass manipulation and evil that's so hard to miss.
edit: *paid

Ha! I was a member of the Las Pinas Boys Choir when I was in grade school, and quit when I got into skateboarding when I was in 4th-5th grade. lol.
I get to accompany my wife to church once in a while out of respect for her belief. The last time, I think was last year. It's good that my work schedule changed and I start working on Sundays so I have not been able to accompany her for a while, hahaha!

Church? Wow. Tagal na rin since I attended mass. And this is from someone who went to a parochial school in elementary and Ateneo for both high school and college. I do remember not going along with pre-class prayers in college. At that point in my life, I thought if there is a Jesus/God, I don't wanna talk to him and NOT mean what I say..

Yung huli kong punta 2 years ago kasama ko kaibigan ko. Sabi nya foodtrip daw kame tapos sagot nya lahat.

every christmas eve and easter.
i love going to christmas eve because of the music and easter's ceremony is pretty dark, they turn off all the lights and its very solemn and meditative.

Christmas eve every year with my folks out of respect to them. At least there's always christmas dinner after. Otherwise I stay away. Like Batdog I'm not handing my money to some dumb fucks who A) never did a damn thing to earn it and B) don't pay any taxes on the mountains of cash they rake in every year all the while claiming to be pro-poor and ostensibly fulfilling a vow of poverty.
Been to the Beit Chabad synagouge on pesach (passover), but only when my girl cajoled me into going. I never understood why she insisted on it, as we're both atheists (holiday hebrew kasi haha, parang christmas christian). At least at the synagogue the rabbi pays for the food they serve after services and the niggunim (devotional hymns) are kick ass tunes, imagine a mid-tempo Nile but a cappella. Still it'd be a whole lot better if it was just aruchat without the pointless tefilot.

I used to play guitar in a church where my uncle is a pastor. But not until college, di ko na kinaya.
Come and go rin karamihan ng mga members dun.
May mga dating adik tapos nagbagong buhay pero after few months adik ulit hahaha
