I've slowly become a fan of Deceased ever since I heard "A Witness to Suspiria" in one of those freebie compilation CDs they include in metal magazines. My impression of them prior to hearing their song was that they played old-school death metal. Well, imagine my surprise when I discovered that they had a melodic edge to them (in a traditional/NWOBHM way not Goteborg) and they straddled the line between death and thrash. I've been working my way back to their back catalog ever since and finding gems along the way.
They have a new album out called "Surreal Overdose" and if the two tracks below are any indication, this will be another essential release for 2011.

Props to King Fowley for lasting this long still an underrated band. Luck of the Corpse is for me their most essential- filthy death metal, among the melodic death/thrash phase - As the Weird Travel On is their best, I do find Surreal Overdose a worthy follow up to ATWTO.

Luck of the Corpse, Fearless Undead Machines and Supernatural Addiction are the Deceased albums I'm most familiar with. Need to go over their other stuff as well.

Their latest record rips! You downloaded it? Nah. It was our party music on repeat and Autopsy's "Macabre Eternal" when a friend came over here last week before I got totally sick.
