I would only consider a few that fits the term musical genius and Frank Zappa would always be on top of my list. His vast discography only indicates how wide his spectrum is when it comes to music.Armed with a lethal dose of fantastic musicians and a unconventional approach his dynasty was completely sealed and untouched. My father and uncle was fortunate enough to see Frank Zappa play live around the 70's my dad would always say that coming to a Frank Zappa gig is always a treat visually and musically. I wish they would release a commemorative release covering his rare recordings and classical compositions before he died in 1993. Frank Zappa just showed in this clip who is the man www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ISil7IHzxc One of the few and last interviews Frank did www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDYzuwG-gOE&feature=relatedSteve Vai's story on his audition with Frank Zappa www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6cplMM3d_Q&feature=related

Hell yes! My father is into Zappa but wasn't into him until I discovered Internal Bleeding in the 90's. When I asked Chris Pervelis what guitarists he's into, he included Zappa in his list and that was the only time I paid attention to Zappa, hahaha! One of my old mans music that I got into. The man is a fucking genius!

Originality in music died with Frank Zappa all the rest of us are just talentless hacks compared to him. Inca Roads anyone?
