I liked fountainhead better next is the atlas shrug(ged?). I forgot the man that introduced me to ayn rand, he told me a story that he is in a jeepney reading A.R.'s book then a nun aproacher her and said that what he's reading is a very dangerous stuff & he should quit reading it. That's how I got curious and read it.

Only to those who are too lazy to think for themselves, and can't handle the reality of living in a purely material universe that is completely indifferent to human desires. My ex-hippie relatives had Anthem lying around and recommended it to me. Great book, though I found some parts sorta derivative of Orwell's 1984.

And even though it's not my favorite A.R. book, of all her works it shows off her philosophy (objectivism) in the best possible light. It's a little preachy and heavy handed in some parts but it's alright.

for the benefit of everyone wondering what the hell M. Gene & I are babbling about, here's a taste of what Ayn Rand & Objectivism is all about (excerpted from Atlas Shrugged):
" In the name of the best in you, do not sacrifice this world to those who are its worst. In the name of the values that keep you alive, do not let your vision of man be distorted by the ugly, the cowardly, the mindless in those who have never achieved this title. Do not lose your knowledge that man's proper estate is an upright posture, an intransigent mind and a step that travels unlimited roads. "
Like I said, it's a little bit preachy but it's alright.

Exactly why it's "dangerous". It promotes free-thinking- That's a big no-no in religious dogma. When people find out that WE are the gods, it eliminates the need for herd mentality thus the end of religion. The powers that be need religion, cause it instills fear in people making them easier to control and get them all in line. Try this site, it's run by a friend of mine. It promotes nihilism. good shit. www.counterorder.com

We're all god, together. I don't think organized religion can handle that.
