Got any nice/exotic setups?
Still using my old Maya kit, but with a Premier 6.5x14 snare and Bosphorus cymbals. Don't know why, but I can't stand bright sounding drums and cymbals any more.

I still play studio drums in our releases...in fact I have a pretty cool electronic/acoustic hybrid kit. I'll talk about that later I'm at work.

Don't know why, but I can't stand bright sounding drums and cymbals any more. ok now down to business. I'm using 2 Pearl Export bassdrums, a 12" tom and a 16" floortom. Then I have 5 Roland V-drum pads around the kit, I had but recently sold platinum zildians, so I'm using electronic pads for now for recording. I have a 14" steel snare, and a 14" steel picollo. The acoustic drums use pintech triggers, and I have a roland td-3 and td-8 for brains. I like using electronic sounds cause of the wide variety of sounds (I can go from muffled 70's sabbath cardboard drum sounds to the morrisound click-y type sound) plus I don't have to mike anything when recording. well except the snares. I'll take some pics and post it here.

I remember back in the 90s, the electronic kits they had at audiophile couldn't do that very well. Me, if I could find one, I'd get myself a vintage Gretsch. I shared a jazz gig with this old drummer once, and he brought his old Gretsch and let me use it. So fucking sweet.

But eh, I tried technology and never looked back.

I converted my old 16" tom into a kick drum for that purpose. Plus it's perfect for drum & bass.

It's kinda hard to set up cause I don't have a rack system.
