Well I dont think he needs further introduction being the vocalist for the seminal band soundgarden is enough, But his solo stuff is quite underrated among others,He is such a great songwriter in my opinion that is undeniable, songs like outshined, rusty cage, black hole sun to his solo stuff like sunshower, sweet euphoria, his lyrics and melodic approach has such a unique touch to it. The only thing i didt like was his brief stint with audioslave such a cheesy concept for a band in my opinion. Now that his new solo album is produced by timbaland(rap producer) i can't really eat that fact that he has bit the dust in terms of shocking me of his choices. Well i guess money's stench is far odorous than integrity itself.

I think cobain overshadowed him, too bad... It's Badmotorfinger. I had that tape too, along with the album before it, Louder Than Love. I was also into Soundgarden back then, up to Superunknown. Cornell's Euphoria Morning was pretty decent, but I haven't heard his latest yet. Having Timbaland as the producer is reason enough to have second thoughts listening to it.

One may even consider Euphoria Morning as the last Soundgarden album [minus the blazing guitar solos and weird arrangements] since alot of those songs were probably written for that band. It was obvious that Cornell's writing for that solo album havent really changed much. Plus the fact that it was still Matt Cameron pounding the skins. Good or bad, its basically a stripped down Soundgarden record. The production, drum sound, even the vocal studio tricks were intact. Just listen to Mission, Pillow of Your Bones, Moonchild, Follow My Way.. all of which can fit easily into Down On The Upside.
If you're a casual listener then by all means, click Cornell's myspace link that i posted above just to hear how terrible his new "music" is.
Pero if you consider yourself a fan of his work, then DO NOT check out anything from his new album, for you will lose all respect for the man.
May mga banat na parang Outkast[?] yun kumanta ng Hey Ya ba yun? Tangina may narinig pako track na merong mala Akon effects sa vox. Putanginang yan!
